Recensione del libro di Eddy Lovaglio “Non si canta con le corde vocali”

Interessante ed approfondita analisi di varie tecniche vocali e delle principali scuole di canto lirico. Eddy Lovaglio offre al lettore un’attenta ed ampia disamina dei molteplici aspetti fonico-espressivi e dei vari “meccanismi” tecnici utilizzati dai più importanti Maestri di canto lirico e da alcuni illustri protagonisti dei più grandi palcoscenici internazionali. E’ da sottolineare il tentativo, molto riuscito, di far comprendere e di illustrare chiaramente, con molta competenza e con dovizia di particolari, il metodo di insegnamento di Arturo Melocchi, offrendone una lettura critica e cercando di mettere finalmente in luce i principi nel modo più approfondito possibile. Molto appassionato ed avvincente è, inoltre, il modo in cui vengono illustrate ed esaminate, in maniera molto obiettiva, le differenti caratteristiche canore delle più grandi voci di spicco del Novecento, tra cui Alfredo Kraus, Mario Del Monaco, Mirella Freni, Luciano Pavarotti: il confronto e la contrapposizione del modo di cantare di questi veri e propri “mostri sacri” del canto lirico sono di enorme utilità anche ad allievi delle classi di Canto dei Conservatori italiani e rappresentano un fulgido esempio per giovani (e meno giovani) cantanti e per studenti di varie nazionalità, compresi tanti italiani, che hanno assolutamente bisogno di avere dei punti saldi di riferimento nel loro percorso di studi e di perfezionamento, e affinamento, della carriera artistica.
Illuminante e molto efficace è anche la notevolissima intervista al professor Diego Cossu, luminare degno di nota, nella quale vengono affrontati molteplici aspetti foniatrici applicati allo studio della tecnica vocale che andrebbero approfonditi e raccomandati maggiormente nei nostri Conservatori.
Molto affascinante è anche il racconto storico-sociale dedicato alle vicende della famiglia Ribichesu e ai ricordi legati al prestigioso “Luculliano d’oro” di Torino, che ha visto, come protagonisti, quasi tutti i più famosi ed acclamati Artisti della storia della Lirica, regalando agli appassionati ed ai melomani dei bei ritratti, più umani ed intimi, della vita e della carriera di queste affermate celebrità del Teatro d’Opera.
Vivamente consigliato l’acquisto di questo validissimo volumetto/compendio che è assolutamente adatto come ausilio ai cantanti lirici (e non), giovani allievi, maestri di canto e di repertorio, ma anche a semplici appassionati ed “amateurs”; infatti la bravissima autrice di questo libro, dalla lettura agile e scorrevole, già dal caratteristico e provocatorio titolo, ci suggerisce che il fine supremo di un vero e completo Artista deve essere proprio quello di riuscire a trovare la chiave giusta per trasmettere e comunicare al suo pubblico pure emozioni date dall’approfondimento del personaggio e del ruolo che deve interpretare, attraverso la perfetta padronanza della propria tecnica vocale e grazie alla mimica, alla gestualità, all’espressione e alla profonda comprensione del significato di ogni singola parola del testo letterario (e del cosiddetto sottotesto dei versi del libretto).
